In order that we may preserve our God-given heritage, the faith once delivered to the saints, especially the doctrine and experience of entire sanctification as a second work of grace, and also that we may cooperate effectually with other branches of the Church of Jesus Christ in advancing God’s kingdom, we, the ministers and lay members of the Church of the Nazarene, in accordance with the principles of constitutional legislation established among us, do hereby ordain, adopt, and set forth as the fundamental law or Constitution of the Church of the Nazarene the Articles of Faith, the Covenant of Christian Character, and the Articles of Organization and Government here following, to wit:
... one eternally existent, infinite God, Triune in being, revealed as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
... eternally one with the Father, incarnate by the Holy Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary. He died for our sins and rose again from the dead.
... ever present and active, convincing the world of sin, regenerating the repentant, sanctifying believers, and guiding in all truth.
... the 66 books of the Old Testaments and New Testaments, given by divine inspiration, inerrantly revealing God's will for our salvation.
... original sin, corruption of the nature of all Adam's offspring, and personal sin, a voluntary violation of a known law of God.
... the only ground of salvation through the shedding of the blood of Jesus Christ and His death on the Cross.

.. a sincere and thorough change of the mind in regard to sin and a voluntary turning away from sin.
... full pardon of all guilt and release from the penalty of sins, new spiritual life, and God's reception of the believer as His child.
... subsequent to regeneration, the baptism with the Holy Spirit resulting in a heart cleansed of sin, indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit, and growth in grace.
... the Body of Christ who confesses Jesus as Lord, called together by the Holy Spirit to continue the redemptive work of Christ.
... a sacrament signifying acceptance of the benefits of the atonement of Jesus Christ to be administered to believers.
... a memorial sacrament declarative of the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ.
... the Bible doctrine of divine healing, urging the prayer of faith. We also believe God heals through medical science.
... Jesus Christ will come again. Those abiding in Him will be caught up to meet the Lord and ever be with Him.
... the resurrection of the dead and every person's appearance before God for judgement, the repentant for everlasting life and the impenitent for eternal suffering.
